He is a full-time professor/researcher in the area of Materials and Structures at the Instituto Tecnológico y de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey (ITESM), Campus Querétaro. He works on research, consulting and development of new products such as construction materials, structural design, durability of construction materials, electrochemical methods for the characterization of construction materials and detailed inspection of concrete structures with corrosion problems.
