He is a Civil Engineer by profession, an architect at heart and a historian as a hobby “in his spare time.” His professional preparation was carried out at the Autonomous University of Yucatán, and his Postgraduate studies (M.E. and Ph.D.) at the University of South Florida, in Tampa, Florida, USA. He is a full-time professor/researcher in the area of ​​Materials and Structures at the Instituto Tecnológico y de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey (ITESM), Campus Querétaro. where he works in research, consulting and development of new products such as construction materials, structure design, durability of construction materials, electrochemical methods for the characterization of construction materials and detailed inspection of concrete structures with corrosion problems. He is also a Consultant and Manager of Engineering and Consulting at SATELSA SA de CV, where he has carried out diagnostic and characterization work for durability of concrete structures in service, mainly bridges and buildings in service, both in marine, urban and industrial environments. . He is also a National Researcher, Level II, of the CONACYT National System of Researchers. The Associate editor of Alconpat Magazine.
