Curriculum Vitae Summary

Full-time Research Professor A of the Faculty of Civil Engineering (FIC) of the Autonomous University of Nuevo León (UANL) since 2010. He has a Master's Degree in Metallurgy and Materials Sciences from the Institute of Metallurgical Research of the Michoacana University of San Nicolás de Hidalgo (UMSNH) and a Master in Innovation in Construction Techniques, Systems and Materials (CEMCO 2007) at the Eduardo Torroja Institute of Construction Sciences (Madrid, Spain), where he also completed a doctoral stay in the Department of Chemistry-Physics of Materials. He received the degree of Doctor of Science with a Specialty in Applied Physics from the Center for Research and Advanced Studies of the Mérida Unit IPN (CINVESTAV-Mérida Unit) in 2009, where he also did a postdoctoral fellowship from 2009 to 2010. He served as Chief of the Construction Materials Research Laboratory of the Institute of Civil Engineering of the UANL from 2011 to 2013. He currently works as Graduate Academic Coordinator of the FIC and as Coordinator of the Doctoral Program in Engineering with Orientation in Construction Materials. He is a tenured professor of the course "Mechanics of Materials I" in the Civil Engineering Degree and of the courses "Research Methodology", "Prevention of pathological problems in concrete structures" and "Deterioration of Construction Materials" in Postgraduate. He is a member of ALCONPAT Mexico since 2005, member and Executive Secretary of ALCONPAT International since 2011 of which he is also a member of the Scientific Committee. He is also Executive Editor of ALCONPAT Magazine. He is a member of the American Concrete Institute (ACI) since 2011. He is a reviewer (referee) of national and international scientific journals such as: Engineering, Research and Technology Magazine of UNAM, ALCONPAT Magazine, Cement and Concrete Composites, Concreto y Cemento. Research and Development of the IMCyC among others. He serves as Technical Secretary of the PREVENIR Thematic Network of the CYTED program. He has graduated and is currently directing PhD and Master's theses (MSc) in the postgraduate programs of the FIC-UANL and of national external Institutions. He has research projects financed by CONACYT and internal to UANL. He is the author and co-author of scientific papers published and distributed in articles in journals indexed in the SCI and JCR with strict arbitration and in congresses of national and international prestige where he has also presented magisterial conferences. He belongs to the National System of Researchers (SNI) and has the Desirable Profile Recognition for Full-Time Professors from PROMEP. His research interests are: Effect of Global Climate Change on structures, sustainability of construction materials, new technologies to increase the durability of structures.
