Civil engineer graduated from the engineering faculty of UNACH in 1991, being the first place of his generation and the first graduate of it, obtained the degree of Master in Computer Science from the Institute of Engineering of the Veracruzana University in 1996 and in 2006 he obtained a Doctor of Engineering degree from the Polytechnic University of Catalonia, Spain with the award of cum laudem, and has a postdoctoral degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Porto, Portugal in 2010.

Professor of the Faculty of Engineering of UNACH from 1994 to date, teaching subjects in the Bachelor of Civil Engineering, the specialty in Construction, in the Master's in Construction Engineering, Hydraulic-Environmental and Engineering and in the Inter-institutional Doctorate in Civil Engineering (CUMEX).

He has been a visiting professor in the master's degrees in engineering that are taught at the Autonomous University of Aguascalientes, at the Juárez University of the State of Durango and at the Industrial University of Santander, Colombia.

He has participated in various research projects for the UNACH institutional research system, for PROMEP and for CONACYT, in the area of ​​optimization, design and improvement of concrete structures. Likewise, he has also participated in 6 Teaching Engagement Units, obtaining in one of them the First Place in the Call for the Award to the university society bonding through the teaching bonding units.

He has taught more than 55 courses at the continuing education level and in engineering colleges. He has participated as a speaker in more than 22 national and international congresses in the areas of construction, structures and artificial intelligence, being these in countries such as Mexico, Cuba, Japan, the United States, Italy, Portugal, Spain, the Netherlands, Ecuador, Colombia, Costa Rica, Morocco, Guatemala and Paraguay. He has written 5 books in the engineering series published by UNACH and participated with papers in more than 10 international proceedings.

He has served as Head of the computer center, academic secretary, head of the concrete technology laboratory, university advisor and as Director of the Faculty of Engineering of UNACH in the period 2012-2016.

He is also president of the Institute of Applied Engineering of Chiapas, A.C. and Secretary of the Latin American Association for Construction Quality Control, Pathology and Recovery (ALCONPAT) Mexico.
