Ethical Criteria of Revista ALCONPAT

The evident growth of the scientific publications in recent decades has led to the implementation of diverse global strategies in order to evaluate the quality of the specialized scientific journals, with the assessment of criteria based on form aspects (presentation), content of the journal, and editorial management standing out in most cases. These last criteria allow assessing and guaranteeing the compliance of the minimum requirements in the edition of the serialized scientific publications, such as the formation of an editorial committee, the normalization, and periodicity; so that, to remain in this direction, Revista ALCONPAT will take some of the measures that normally assess the excellence and quality of the specialized scientific journals in the field of dissemination.

Ethical behavior standards expected from all parties involved in the publication of RA: the author, the reviewer, the associate editor, the editor in chief, and ALCONPAT.

a)     Responsibilities of the Editorial Board and the Director of the journal

First, all collaborations will be evaluated by the director of the journal with the help of the members of the Editorial Board of RA. This evaluation will consider the following: that the contributions adjust to the topics in which the journal specializes, that they represent relevant contributions to the scientific knowledge, and that they comply with the standards and guidelines for the submission of the originals.

  1. The Editorial Board shall consider the manuscripts presented for publication, solely through the academic and scientific merits of each text.

  7. The responsibility of accepting or rejecting a collaboration shall lie on the Director and shall be solely based on the result of the evaluations carried out by each of the instances in charge of it.
  8. The director of the journal and the Editorial Board reserve the right to renounce the published works that contain a clear and proven lack of reliability derived from bad scientific practices such as the omission of bibliographical or documentary references, and the reproduction without citing the authorship of research by other authors, among others.

c)     Responsibilities of the Authors

  1. The authors must follow the “Rules for the submission of originals” established by the journal.
  2. According to the “Rules for the submission of originals”, the authors are only allowed to present original and unpublished works of research; no research that has already been published will be accepted. They must ensure that the documentary evidence and the results being presented in their articles are the product of an original work. It is the obligation of the author to identify all the published and original works of other authors that were utilized and that served as background information for the article being submitted for evaluation. 4. The authors must state, in the citations and references, and in the bibliography, the sources that were used in their research.

Article publication fees

The RA has, from its beginnings, a set of rules that considers publication fees to support the expenses of administration and publication. However, until now, and based on the direct communication with the authors, the payment of the same has been permanently waived until our editorial solvency (being a part of superior indices, increased demand, impact index, etc.) and administration so require it. Until now, and since its beginnings, Revista ALCONPAT has financed its maintenance with the support of the Association; however, once it was indexed among the Mexican Journals of Science and Technology of the CONACyT, we have had more resources, thanks to which we achieved some improvements such as: the OJS evaluation system, Redalyc indexing, SciELO Mexico indexing, personal domain, DOI number, etc.

Article translation fees

Given that Revista ALCONPAT publishes its articles in Spanish, English and Portuguese, the author(s) agrees to pay the cost of the translation from their native language to the English language. This payment is unavoidable and will be paid directly to the translation service.

In this case we recommend using the service by Elsevier:
